KPMG Netherlands "Onboarding.

Since 2017, we have been providing part of the Onboarding for KPMG. Together with YesWeConnect, we have continued the fruitful cooperation that already existed with KPMG since 2022.

The challenge for companies in general, but especially for large companies like KPMG, is to limit the outflow of newjoiners as much as possible and to have these employees working effectively as soon as possible. You do this by providing them with as much information and guidance as possible, but even more important is to immediately give newjoiners a good and trusted network that they will want to have coffee with, ask questions with, work with and feel comfortable with. As a result, you immediately belong to the KPMG family and are a "KPMG guy" from day 1. As part of the onboarding program for KPMG, we provide a "connecting-day" at Forteiland IJmuiden that is all about "connecting".

Connecting is done, on the one hand, by connecting the new KPMG people by characteristics such as age or hobbies. On the other hand, it is done by doing. The afternoon program consists entirely of various forms of cooperation in which the guests are mainly engaged with each other. This is the best way of getting to know each other. Team exercises can be very low-key physically, but in execution bring out the best in teams and individuals. In addition, the complexity of the exercises creates a need to work together and thus an opportunity to showcase your talents (and pitfalls). In addition to team exercises, we also challenge participants at altitude. Exposing yourself to certain fears and challenges create strong shared experiences and lasting memories.

From evaluations and stories of Onboarders within KPMG, we always hear back that the day on the Fort Island was inspiring and special and contributed enormously to the feeling of "belonging" at KPMG. A kind of landmark in the career ahead of them.

One of the newjoiners put it very well in the aftermovie:

"We started as complete strangers and after two days it felt like family."
